So, the first public version is 1.0.1.262. It and all further versions will be available here: https://vtool.info/
Compared to the announced version, it contains additional functionality, mainly related to calibrations and stability.
The functionality will be expanded, especially diagnostic capabilities. New Data Identifiers will be added for various modules and the display of errors will be improved, and details will appear.
Volunteers will be needed to test the diagnostics and programming of iCup cars (Android), since I do not have such a car at hand. Therefore, if there are any interested parties - welcome to a personal message I will say right away - it is safe for your car.
The program itself is free and does not require an Internet connection for basic functions - diagnostics and service.
But for special use cases, for example, programming, an account is needed. The user is validated on the server and additional functions for one or more VINs become available to him. Accounts are issued on an individual basis.
I'll tell you right away for those who like to get into places where they weren't asked. Attempts to guess the user's password are detected automatically and IP addresses will be blocked in this case. Just like the application itself can resist - the use of accounts is controlled and their improper use or transfer to "other persons" will lead to blocking. The programming functions are inextricably linked to the server from which VTool receives everything it needs and does not contain any "firmware" inside itself.
The installer requires administrator rights ONLY to add an entry to the firewall rules, otherwise there may be no connection with the car. Otherwise, the program runs under an unprivileged user and is even quite portable.
